Ok i have got my lip re-pierced for the third and last time
I am so sick of getting it done and having to take it out for job interviews and it closing up.
This time i am sworn to secrecy..
I went to my usual place to get it done ( at 30 bucks, you just cant go wrong) the lady there asked me where i wanted it done and i said i wanted it were the last one was originally. The lady walked off the came back a few seconds later with another piercer. She told me that if i got it done in the same spot then it would get infected, so she suggested that i get it done slightly to the side of the previous hole.
So i signed my life away and went into the back with the girl that served me previously. When we were alone she then asked me if it really did annoy me that i couldn't have it in the same spot and i said that i would much rather have that then have another scar on my face. So she then made a deal with me which goes as follows:
1. She will do it on the condition that i don't show anyone as i walk out and
2. If it gets infected, do not come back and complain
I agreed to this
After all, customer is always right.
However, when she was pushing the needle into my lip, it hurt like hell. All i could taste was blood and metal. I chose this moment to try and talk ( naturally). I tried to ask her if i can look at the needle but it came out something like this: "canhiooktneedhl?"
I waited until she took the clamp and the needle out of my mouth and then tried again.
The needle looks like some sort of screw driver. It has a hard plastic handle and the needle itself (which they cut off) is made of hollow metal. For some reason, i found this intriguing, so i asked her what it takes to become a body piercer. She told me that she used to be a nurse and she is studying at uni so she got the job pretty easily. For me to become one though i need to go to school.
Dammit.
True Facts:
- Piercings and tats are addictive, but they can cause mental and physical problems if they aren't wanted or looked after. Unwanted tattoos can cause people to become seriously depressed, especially if they are always in view and piercings that aren't looked after properly can become septic and possibly kill if the infection isn't dealt with properly, which usually means taking it out or seeing a medical professional.
- I have had some problems with mine ( i have had 16 piercings, now only 13) including one that did make me ill. I woke up in hospital after passing out at home with all removed. My body tried reject my tongue ring and i didn't know, which of course made it infected. One on each ear became infected, but i manage to save one. My libret rejected so i removed it before any further complications.
Even if you take the piercing out before it is fully healed make sure you still treat the wound, it can still become infected.
All this is just based on experience. If you get any, only you will know if something goes wrong. Remember, if there are any questions or if its bothering you, you can go back and get it checked. That is part of their job.
